Re: Error 0 and after-CAS loading issues

@crystalf1ambe1  Can you use "save as" instead of "save"?  Please try it and let me know.

If that doesn't work, please remove the Mods folder and try "save as" again.  You'll be creating a new save instead of overwriting the old one, so you don't need to worry about the effects of the missing mods and custom content.

When you say trying to play a new household causes a crash, do you mean an entirely new save or a different household within the same save?  And does this happen with no mods or cc?

Please also post a dxdiag, for reference.

Save as works, but as to the household issue I mean I create a new household in the same save and when I click to play it crashes(with mods).

@crystalf1ambe1  Since the game is fine without mods, the problem, or the current problem at least, is clearly one or more of your mods.  So you'll need to test them, either in batches or by using the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files to sort through:

    https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content#The_50.25_Method

I do want to mention that your laptop's Nvidia graphics driver is a few years old now and should be updated.  Lenovo doesn't offer a newer driver for your model, but you can use the generic one from Nvidia instead:

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/228213/en-us/

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Choose the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install.  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

I think I found the mod that was causing the crash, but does have outdated drivers mean it's causing the problem after I exit cas?

@crystalf1ambe1  The problem could be entirely related to your mods, or one of them.  The outdated driver could be irrelevant here.  But it also might be contributing to the issues, and it is a few years old already, so I wanted to mention it.

Sims 4 generally plays fine with old-ish drivers, but there's a point past which a driver clearly isn't working anymore.  That point moves as time goes on and the game gets updated, so it's impossible to say without testing whether a given driver is no longer compatible.  That's why I suggested updating the driver but didn't say it was absolutely necessary.

I hadn't updated the drivers yet, but in the new household I'm currently playing I wanted to do cas for a horse and it worked...so maybe fault lies in that one household and for whatever reason isn't loading after I finish cas. Hopefully I can figure this out, thanks for your help.

So, the I did the download for the link you gave me for the drivers, but the game still has issues. I made a new game with new characters without mods and then when I added the mods in again the loading screen just kept going continuously until I ended the task in task manager. Before in my old game with the new household it was working until it wasn't, I don't know why, but with the BE mod it kept popping up something that I can't remember, but never named a mod, so unless this is coming from the base game and maybe the latest patch I don't know how to solve either of these problems, because I would like to play my game with mods. I tried removing mods that I had issues with int he past and the old game worked for a few minutes and then the BE kept popping up(and I mean over and over again even after I clicked the x), making it unplayable. So, I'm hoping the never patch for the new expansion will possibly solve these problems, so far I haven't been able to play my game the way I want to sadly.

I also get this BE a lot now, and by a lot I mean every time I try to exit out of it it pops back up.

@crystalf1ambe1  Does the game work with no mods at all?  I understand you want to use mods, but it's critical to establish whether the problem is present without mods or custom content.

@crystalf1ambe1  Then the problem is one or more of your mods, and you'll need to test them and remove or replace any that don't work.  There's no way around this.  For any mod you really want to use but that creates problems, you can try downloading a fresh copy, in case yours is corrupted or out of date and you didn't notice.  But if that doesn't work either, you'll need to wait for an update.

Since Sims 4 is getting a patch in about 16 hours, I'd suggest holding off until then—you don't want to spend a lot of time on this process only to have to repeat it again tomorrow.  Or you can do it now and play offline without patching for a while, if you prefer.  That would mean not getting the newest expansion right away, since it won't work without the update, but it's a reasonable alternative.

So, it's still acting up with mods, trying to load a new household and the loading never stops. But there was another update yesterday, so I'm going to see what happens to the first game with the new household as well as the new game where the household won't load at all.

So my one accessible game somewhat works. Now for whatever reason some of interactions aren't being completed fully or I have to reset the sims. I'm not sure if this is the new patch issues or mods. I know my game is a bit slower too, so I don't know if that's because of all the packs I have or a patch issue as well. But the fact that I still can't create a new game with a new household is my largest concern...I'm hoping more fixes come in the near future for the game.

Weirdly enough it was doing okay until sometime last night(it was still slow, but the sims were functioning). I'm literally switching between saving and build mode to get my sims to carry out interactions. I'm not sure why the game's acting like this, but it would be great if someone could tell me if this is patch related or that it's because I have to many packs that's causing the slowing down issue, because I'm literally waiting minutes as sim time passes by in seconds for my sims to do the action that I click (one being make a wedding cake). I don't want to spend hours on the game when the sims aren't moving or stalled. Can someone help me?

@crystalf1ambe1  This new patch was significant even putting aside the content of the new expansion, and then there were two emergency patches; a lot has changed since you started the thread.  So I'd like to (briefly) go back to the basics: please move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts, load the game to create a new folder, start a new save, and let me know how it runs.  Don't add any content from the Gallery, or your Library, or anywhere else.

If the new save runs fine, copy over your main save, but still nothing else yet, and test that too.

I've seen an increase in reports of sims not doing what they're told, or dropping actions from the queue, but not really of sims waiting a while before following instructions.  Still, that doesn't mean that your particular issue has nothing to do with the patch.

So, right now I'm getting a lot of better exceptions, different ones about the interaction or not being sure what the cause of the issue is and they continuously pop up making the game once again unplayable. I've done the remove the mods thing, removed the old saves to the desktop and when I move everything back it's still having issues.
