I just had a poke at the files, I couldn't spot any interactions that apply to cleaning the fishbowls. I also looked at the tuning file for the gummy fish bowl and couldn't see an interaction for cleaning the bowl their either. I also couldn't see anything to tell the bowl to become dirty. I'm not sure why it's going green but I could try and have a look in game. I wonder if its an FX to make the spooky bowl more spooky and for some reason it's showing on the gummy bowl too?

@Cinderellimouse I'm sure glad that we have this informal community-driven platform for user socialization and product support where participants who are educated in engineering and software development can provide their expertise where there is no response to critical product-breaking issues which users tend to use as a reason to defame and assault highly educated developers such as those of Maxis due to their inability to comprehend the foundations of technology-related industries and the principles of scientific modeling which have led to the creation of gorgeous sentimental products such as "The Sims" and "Sim City."
Having the ability to communicate freely and openly collaborate makes me feel confident that products such as The Sims and pioneering companies such as Electronic Arts will survive and continue to lead standardization of graphic entertainment through the next generation as they have done masterfully for the past three decades.
Since this isn't a bug or even a malfunction I believe that my comment is relevant to the content of the thread.
