Re: [FIXED] Loading family just loads Map again
I may have a similar issue, but I can play my families. The issue of loading the world map will occur on me when I have a Sim travel to one particular venue, the Rattlesnake lounge, to which I would return to the world map (Willow Creek). I then reselected the traveling Sim's lot which will show her at the venue and after selecting that, it will return to the world map. At this point I saved, exit, and restarted, but now after selecting any family lot, it will only return to the world map which at this point I'm unable to perform any action on a lot (i.e. build), except to exit the game. I was able to restore by renaming the slot_000001.save.ver1 to slot_000001.save, but the issue with the venue remains.
I then went back to my previous saves, to where this issue will occur on any of my Dec dated save files, but does not occur on my October save file. I could continue with this Oct dated save with no problems (I have no other save in between).
I did start a new game with no issues at this time. I will continue and report if I do encounter the problem.
I do have available the saved game if needed.
I was playing with multiple families to which I would switch in between, I do not have issues with switching families at this time. But for each family I have rebuilt their lot with a custom house I made myself (and uploaded to the gallery, which now raises some concern). I have not downloaded any content from the community at this time. As for the careers, I have selected mostly writers, painters, and cooks. Currently I will be playing the new game until this is resolved in someway (hopefully fix, but I understand the difficulties).
It seems related in the sense that I can get to the point of unable to play the game at all with a save after travel and be in the same condition as the other posters, but mine is more towards a particular venue lot. I did bulldoze this venue and made it a generic empty lot, but when traveling to this lot the game would return back to the world view.
Thanks Crinrict and I hope this helps.
