Re: [FIXED] Loading family just loads Map again

Hello!

I loaded my game tonight and I encounter this problem for the first time. I was just playing it last night, and everything went fine. I didn't install any updates or change anything to the game during this timeframe. I have tried the solutions  posted in this thread to no avail. I tried several families and builds and everything I click into it, it just goes back to the map. Here is my saves folder. I would really appreciate some assistance. Thank you!

    Hi @jenjen8866

looked at your save game and it seems to be something about that house on the Oakenstead lot. Can't figure out what it is though.

Did you build that yourself or download from the gallery ?

The older save with the red house still loads.

    Hi there,

This has been happening to me for a while, and originally I thought that I had fixed it by deleting my old saved games and starting a new one, but about a day into play and it began directing me towards the map screen again. The only thing I can find in common is that it started happening after both households bought a retail store, but I'm really unsure if that's relevant because none of my games are pirated and it doesn't seem to be happening to anybody else. Would you mind looking at my saves and telling me if it's something in there? I have no idea what to do from here but I really want to keep playing.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi @colourmeperfect

should it send me to the map right away with those games or do I have to take some specific steps  ? Are you using any mods ?

I'm only using two... one that stops relationship decay, and a pregnancy controller. And as I mentioned it's happened twice when a sim has purchased a retail store, so that may be relevant? I've got the game working again because I reset it and I'm avoiding purchasing a store, but it's a bit annoying that it's happened twice when I did a complete reboot the first time and had to delete everything.

I'd appreciate any help! The households seem to become corrupt after purchasing a retail store, but I'm not sure why that would be the case considering I purchased all of my games through origin.

It's okay if you can't do anything! Maybe I'll just link it to you again if/when it becomes corrupt once more. I really appreciate the help regardless, it's so frustrating!

I should probably add that deleting the mods didn't help, and I've checked that they're all up to date!

Yeah, it's hard to replicate the issue if a save doesn't have it.

Just give me a save when it happens again.

Sorry, I didn't have the time yet.

    On my plan tomorrow.

    Hi @colourmeperfect

I've tried your save and it loads fine for me.

Have you tried removing all your mods and a factory reset as described on the first page ?

Hi, thank you for trying it! I have done the factory reset a few times and the issue has come back, so it probably is a mod issue. This might be a really dumb question, but when we're talking about corrupt mods, is it just script mods? or could custom hairs/clothes etc be an issue too? Because from memory I removed my script mods and nothing was fixed, but there could have been something in another folder. I'll play around a bit, but an answer to that question would save me a lot of time, haha.

Thanks again for all of your help!

The probability of hair and cloth being the issue here is very slim. With this issue, I'm not going to say not possible though.

Non-script mods on the other hand could very well be the issue.
