Re: Game Completely Unplayable after 9/18/2024 Update

I cant load a save after loading into the main menu, it goes on perpetually, I am on an Intel computer, so the Direct X shouldnt have changed right? I also dont have a toggle button in Graphics to change anything. I am now just stuck not playing ... I am fairly steaming at the moment. I tried removing folder and moving just my saves and tray back, which didnt help either. Still stuck on loading into a save.

    @7ofLein  You're correct, DirectX 11 shouldn't be active.  Please make sure that you didn't previously enable it though.  Open the EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and check the command line box.  if you see -dx11 there, remove it.

    Otherwise, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    And let me know whether you can play in a clean Sims 4 folder without adding back your saves and Tray folders.

    new update 9-18-2024 update has broken my game so bad when i go to play, click on family i want to play and go to bed 8 hours later still loading the save file, 8 hours of loading screen, does EA test these updates or do they just put them out there and see what nightmare comes out of it? you would think a game that makes them money they would make sure every update and add-on would work right. had to force game to quit from computers task manager no other way to stop it.

    i uninstilled delete folder rebooted my computer reinstalled the sims 4 will work with new family to i save leave and reload game then it gets stuck it because of the grim part, i made a mod that makes the game think grim is running when it is not and my game loads fine grim blocked even the save files that would not work do work now i keep backups of all my sims games sub folders and gameplay so i know what has changed in the game, i was up 4 days fixing EA's sims game killing update, my game thinks the update is running but is not as longs my mod works my game will play.

    thank you for trying  took me four days to fix sims 4 everytime update comes i loose sleep fixing it. i never work so hard trying to keep a $1000.00 game running i ben playing sims for over 25 years getting to old to keep up with sims.

    @williaminc1975  Please test with no mods or custom content at all, and if your lots use the Off the Grid challenge, remove it.

    If this doesn't help, please describe the issue(s) you're currently seeing and in what contexts.  I'm not sure from your post what the current problem is.
