I have the same issue so I'm guessing my computer isn't compatible. So what now? Did I just spend £30 for nothing?

if you can still play the rest of the game, just avoid creating big dogs. Maybe you can adopt them if you want them in your family? 🙂

It is not just big dogs it is all dogs. I could just avoid it but I payed to play cats and dogs not just cats. There must be some way to fix it- origin's customer service is really poor. There is no direct way to talk with anyone.

If you want to contact EA support you can go here. You can either choose that you want them to call you or use the live chat.

    https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/

Here are some tips on how to do it if it's complicated, I also believe there are some phone numbers there.
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/How-to-contact-an-Advisor-via-EA-Help/m-p/5650100

If you just bought the game you might still be eligible for a refund though, but if that is an option for you, check it out right away as there are time limits.

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/what-s-the-great-games-guarantee/

But I mean, if you have a computer that does not minimum requirements, I do not think support can help you.

Have you made sure your graphics drivers are up to date?

Post a dxdiag if you want me to help you check your specs 🙂

    Good Luck!

Hm yes your CPU is too weak and it seems like your graphics card is a bit weak too. Your dedicated memory is 114 MB and the requirements for the game is 128 MB.
Cats&Dogs have higher requirements than the base game, so that may have triggered it.

Your graphics driver is 2 years old though so if you find an update to that it might really help your case.
Also make sure that your graphics settings are set to low quality. You can change your settings a bit and see if it works, like enabling/disabling vsync.

    Good luck!

Your Graphics are below minimum requirements. For some reason your CPU is not listed but I assume that is below minimum requirements as well.

Also your graphics driver is more than a year old. Upgrading it may help.

  • When I go into cas, I get to pick the breed of the dog, and then it just freezes. I thought it was because of my cc, but that was not the case.

    @Stefany100000

Like others here your computer is below minimum requirements.

Your Graphics driver are years old. upgrading that may help but I doubt that.

Hi, I had the exact same issue and I couldn't seem to be able to fix it. If you chat/text with someone that works at EA you can ask for a refund- that's what I did and the refund went straight through

I've also had this problem. I just bought the sims 4 cats and dogs recently and I don't have all the packs. But everytime I go to create a dog it'll work for like 5 minutes and then freeze. Everything else works, the sims md it works when I just adopt a dog from inside the game but the moment I even try to Create a dog in CAS the game completely freezes and nothinv works but my mouse. I have a dell computer with Windows 10 that I bought maybe 2 years ago and it might be the same as the other 2 but I want to make sure because I was super excited to play the game but now I'm getting to the point of just removing it completely. I've put the DxDiag.exe in the bottom. Please help me figure this out

Hi, I am presuming your computer is below the requirements needed (as was mine). Unfortunately your choices are to either carry on as is (and just use the cats) or apply for a refund. Contact Ea and Live chat with one of their technicians (they were very helpful for me). They will probably tell you the same thing as I have but it is always worth checking to see if they have any new solutions.
    Hope this helped, abiscott106

Thank you for sharing your computer information. Unfortunately, your system is under minimum specs for the game.

The processor is under minimum specs. 1.6Ghz. The recommended is a 2.4Ghz, specially for those using integrated graphics. Which this one has.

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers and turning off Origin in-game?

How to Find devices and updating drivers on your PC - https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/finding-devices-and-updating-drivers/

    Turn off Origin In-Game:
Open Origin, Select Origin > Application Settings > Origin In Game tab and click the on/off switch to disable Origin In Game. - This deactivates Origin In-Game, as it has been known to cause problems with games.

Restart the computer, to help the computer refresh itself, and try the launching the game again. Just be aware that it may not play or play that well.

  • I'm having the same problem and If it is cause my computer just doesn't have the requirements that's messed up I payed loads of money for the pack and it doesn't even work and the only way to be able to play is to buy a whole new computer which is super expensive not cool!

    Hi @strange_jade11

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

You can attach the txt file to your post directly.

You might be able to get a refund on the pack if you explain the situation.

It's best to always check the requirements of a game before buying it. That's what they're there for. To give you an idea if you can run the game.

  • I appreciate your concern but I feel like I shouldn't have to return the pack my computer fits the requirements of the sims 4 game so why should there be different ones for the pack I even have other packs such as the seasons and it works completely fine!

If you post your DxDiag I can take a look and tell you if it's in fact this issue or if maybe something else is off.

The newer packs do have different requirements than the base game but it's mostly about RAM and 64 bit.
