To start a new game ? Simply click on the + sign in the upper right corner on the main menu (neu = new)

The main menu has been changed since this very old posting.
However restarting the game works as always. Press Esc, then click on exit. Start the game again.

How are things going? Were you able to find the option to start a new game?
By restarting, the message you are receiving means closing the game and starting it again, not starting a new game. 😉

You have not posted in this thread before so what was it you did and what didn't work?
Did you click New Game and that did not create a new game or what?
I've found a game breaking bug which effects all of my games, I need to restart the whole game to get rid of it.
