Re: how to delete electronic arts folder

i know this thread is two years old but i'm having a similar issue.

i've been trying to move my sims over to an external hard drive and in doing so, i copied the entire electronic arts folder onto my external hard drive. i then deleted the folder and it deleted just fine. however, the tutorials online are sort of confusing so i took it back out of the trash and back onto my external hard drive.

that leads me to now, where i'm pretty sure i know what to do but in order to do it, i need the electronic arts folder in my external hard drive gone for the second time, but i'm unable to do so because it says it's open in another location or that i need approval from everyone.

  • @fruitfaeries  I've split your post into its own thread so it doesn't get locked as a necro before you get any help.

Before doing anything else, restart your computer.  Sometimes it really is that simple.  If that doesn't help, please make sure the EA App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager—the latter can prevent games' program files from being altered, and I'm not sure from your description whether the external has any program files on it.

If that doesn't help either, please post a screenshot of the contents of the Electronic Arts folder on your external drive.  Please also let me know what you're trying to do here.

You can delete the ea folder not from the computer documents because, we are all connected by one drive. Therefore you need to access one drive and delete it from there. One drive is the app not the folder on the computer. After deleting it you just need to recycle it
