To make sure they're viable to use or to correct the issue I'd contact EA direct. -- EA support for the live chat:
- Go here: https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/#
- Log in (top right corner) with Origin credentials
- Click on Sims 4, then follow by 1: choosing PC, 2: Codes and Promotion, then select contact option
