@QnReno  This error is typically related to an antivirus blocking Sims 4.  So please set an exception for TS4_DX9_x64.exe, which is the new executable for the default DirectX 9 version of the game.  One user has reported needing to set an exception for the entire Bin folder it's in, or perhaps the entire Sims 4 folder in Program Files; I'm not sure which from their description.
