Could you try cleaning the inventory with the cheat: inventory.purge ?

You’re a genius thank you this worked. I had a sims have files for the freelancer career and this was the only way they got deleted!!
- @Roseliatv Well, it's October 21st (2019) and this inventory.purge cheat code doesn't work anymore.🤔
