Re: Missing DLL sims 4

Could you go to the directory "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" and search for "msvcp120.dll" in there by using the search box at the top right of the window?

If the file is not found, try reinstalling the vcredist_x64 again, restart the PC and let me know how it goes. 🙂

I'm probably going to sound like a major idiot but I don't know how to get to the directory at all. That's one of my biggest issues! I'm so sorry I'm struggling so bad haha
  • Okay, go to Computer in the start menu and open it. Double click Local Disk, then the Windows folder, and then SysWOW64 folder. Windows may pop up with a warning about editing the files in these folders. Don't worry about that, just be very sure not to move or delete anything in these folders.

At the top right of the window itself will be a search bar, type in msvcp120.dll and wait a minute for it to search. If it states that there are no results, then vcredist_x64 did not install correctly.

Okay fabulous Thankyou! I did this and it found 1 result: msvcp120_clr0400.dll

    Is that the right result?
  • Unfortunately not, try to reinstall the vcredist_x64, by right-clicking "vcredist_x64.exe" and "Run as administrator", restart the PC and try to search for the file again, let me know if the file is there afterwards. 🙂

Okay I did that, and it comes up with the same thing it always done.
It's the Microsoft Visual c++ 2013 redistributable (x64) screen that says modify setup. The only three options are: repair, uninstall and close. I always click repair. Each time it says restart your computer to use this and I do so and then open origin to play the game and it comes up with the same error message all over again!
  • Okay, open vcredist_x64.exe and click uninstall. Your PC may need to restart afterwards, once it has, install it as normal.

Edit: I apologise for all this. Computers can be quite a hassle. :P
