I removed all mods and I don't know how to reset the game but I even deleted the sims then re-download it still does not work

Are they your Sims ? If not, those might just be Sims that use a skin you don't have.

did you try repairing your game through Origin ? Did you try changing them in CAS ? Does that get rid of the blackness ? (if you give them a different Skin tone for testing a few) I’m having the exact same problem, except that it’s not only when it’s inside, it’s all the time. Not only my sims but all the sims in the game are all pitch black & it’s been like that for months now and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I don’t use any mods and I never had.
Could you post a picture ? Did you try repairing your game ?
Did u find a fix cause the accepted solution doesn’t work. Here’s a link to someone with the same problem I think I’m gonna try doing what they did.

i just figured this out for myself. all i had to do was turn off laptop mode. it was a simple solution really
