When searching on the problem, I've found that mods can cause this issue. So checking mods is a good idea.
Make sure nothing is blocking the stove like windows, pan racks, clutter, etc.
If that doesn't work, try repairing the game, and resetting Sims 4.
If you have Mods and CC, move the the mods folder to the desktop, delete the localthumbcache.package from the Sims 4 folder. This helps clear up some game glitches and will help to make sure there isn't any issues with mods. Like outdated mods or cc.
How to do this:
- Go to the Electronic Arts folder [C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4]
- Right-click on the Mods folder and select Cut, and Paste it to the desktop.
If the game runs well without the mods folder. This most likely means that it is an outdated mod. This can happen as we get updates for the games, some mods and custom content become outdated. You'll need to to go through your mods folder to find what needs to be replaced.

Repair the Sims 4 game. In Origin - right-click on Sims 4 and select Repair.
After repairing the game, Run the game, start a new game save without mods, to see if the issue remains.
If all goes well with a new game. Copy your old saved games from the Sims 4 folder on your desktop to the new Sims 4 folder in [C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4].
Try playing one of the older saved games. If that goes okay, start to put back the other files and folders. (list of files and folders below).
- Options.ini (User game settings)
- Tray Folder (Sims/Houses/Commercial lots and rooms)
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Rest of the save games, if any.
(leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave. It is not used anymore.)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, makeup
- Mods (Put these back one by one to make sure they all still work)
