Re: Objects on Diagonal not working/Eco Upgrade parts not Registering

@FranklyDarling

Issue #1:

  • There's a post about diagonal walls that you may want to check out: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Feedback/Having-a-problem-with-diagonal-walls-after-the-update/m-p/9193285#M30597
You could add your information there and see if others are seeing the same issue.
  • Can you please add a screenshot of what you're running into with the diagonal walls - both any error message in Build Mode and in Live Mode.
  • Run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs). See if the issue is still there.
  • Do you have Mods/CC in your game? If you do, please try removing them in the manner below and see if the issue is still there: (click on the spoiler tag for directions)
    Spoiler

Please try the following in this order without skipping any steps, even if you’ve done some of these steps already:

    • Exit your game then exit Origin. Drag the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the localthumbcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder. (When you restart the game it will automatically create a new Mods folder.)
    • Next please run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs).

Do not re-add any of your Mods or CC at this time. Please then restart your game and do not enter your previous game-save but begin a new game. See if the issue is present in this new game-save.

If this fixes the issue you can re-add your Mods/CC one at a time to see which were conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old Resource.cfg file from the old Mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted. If you have a lot of Mods or CC you can do so by via the 50/50 method. Let me know if you need directions on this.

  • If all of this doesn't help, please upload your lot ot the gallery and provide the name of the lot here along with your gallery username if it's different than it is here. Then I could test in my game.

Issue #2:

  • I just tested in my game and first I needed to make the Eco Upgrade Parts, which it sounds like you did. These parts should then show up in your Sim's Personal Inventory (not the Household Inventory). The Personal Inventory is located here:

  • Your Sim can then click on the sink and choose to do the upgrade. My Sim was able to do this. The Sim will need the appropriate handiness level plus plumbing upgrade parts to do some of the upgrades, but some of the Eco upgrades were also available to my Sim with lower handiness and no plumbing upgrade parts. It sounds like this is the type of upgrade you're trying to choose from your description.
  • Can you take a screenshot of the Sim's Personal Inventory?
  • Do you see the upgrade parts in the Personal Inventory?
  • If you have Mods/CC, please see if, after you follow the directions in the spoiler tag above, this issue persists or is gone also.
