Re: Origin says I'm not connected to the internet but clearly I am. Help?

@Subbyil I've finally fixed this issue, after 1.5 days of nonstop searching. There are literally hundreds of people complaining about this after the last Origin update. EA has released an older version on their website, and it fixed my issue. I was BANISHED to offline mode, with a full 5 bars of Internet! I tried everything... nothing worked,

You'll want to exit out of Origin, uninstall Origin. And re-download the older version. This also stopped the "insert disc error" that many are also experiencing.

Good luck!

You can grab it from HERE >> https://filehippo.com/download_origin/post_download/ <<

--- Exit out of the current Origin. Uninstall from "Programs and Files" and then install the old version. --

Some things to keep in mind while using the old version.

** Make sure you uncheck "Keep Origin and my games up to date" on the installation box that pops up BEFORE you press install. If you don't do this, the Origin client will attempt to immediately update as soon as you install.

** Make sure that you do not exit out of the client. if you can leave the computer on, that is the best way. Simply minimize the client when not in use. If you lose Internet, while having the old client; when it comes back on, it will ask you to update. Just exit out. Uninstall, and reinstall.

** Make sure you by-pass Origin when playing your games. Once you have logged in successfully to Origin, you can play your games. BUT. Others have claimed (I have not confirmed myself) that if you click on the game IN Origin, it will ask you to update Origin and then kick you to Offline mode. BUT. I found. If you right-click on your game on your desktop or where ever you have it installed on your computer.. and click "Run as Administrator" The game will load.. Origin will not interfere, and you will be able to successfully by-pass the broken install update until a permanent solution is available..

This is how i have been playing my game🙂

    Happy Gaming !!

@s_stutler Thank you for your suggestion. This worked for me. Only I tried to find my Sims 4 files on my computer and they are nowhere to be found. Where did EA take them away to? I can still play but I have no idea where the file for the game went. I see my Sim 3 folder under Electronic Arts but they have us hostages under Origin apparently. Anyway, as long as I keep my Origin's "Automatic Update" button unchcecked it won't screw up again? Just wondering.
