Re: Re: Can't scroll with trackpad

@iloveroboapple  I've split your post into its own thread because the other thread was a little old, and I didn't want it to be closed before you had a chance to get help.

When you say scrolling doesn't work in Sims 4, does trying to scroll have any effect?  Are there other examples of the trackpad not working with the game, or is scrolling the only issue?  Does it help to switch to windowed mode?  The setting is with the other graphics options.

Please also try disabling any apps that come with overlays, for example Steam or Discord.  Disable the in-game overlay for the EA App or Origin as well; the option should be under Settings/Application Settings.

@puzzlezaddict I also need help with this. I am having the same issue as the person in the original thread from a while ago. When I try to scroll the CAS items, it's choppy and mostly unresponsive when I two finger scroll up and down. The two finger zoom in and out works perfectly fine and is very smooth. On the other hand, scrolling down the actual CAS items gives me the results I stated earlier. I don't have any games with overlays open when I am playing games. Even origin is disabled in my application settings. This didn't do this on my old windows laptop, but it started on my newer, better laptop. Yes, a mouse helps, but I don't have enough desk space to use a mouse long term so it wont be helpful. Are there any new things I could try?

@puzzlezaddict Sorry, I meant the EA App! I'm on a windows laptop. This has been happening for over a year though before the EA app was even a thing.

@StardustVoid  In-game scrolling can be pretty choppy, unfortunately.  One thing you can try is switching between fullscreen and windowed modes.  If windowed works better but you want the fullscreen look, try "windowed fullscreen" (borderless in any other game).

You can also try adjusting the trackpad's sensitivity.  I only see the most basic settings under Windows Settings > Devices > Touchpad, but perhaps your laptop will show more settings there or in a built-in control panel.  I can't tell you where to look without knowing exactly what laptop you have, but check the manual, or you can probably find an online guide for your specific model.
