It happens if your sim is :

a) taken from Gallery

b) he was townee before

c) he was born in a game in your second family and the game gave him a trait which you later corrected

d) the lot where he is at this moment has a "romantic" trait

e) in his surroundings are objects which emanate with a romantic mood
