Re: SDX error, white sim portraits, corrupted save, etc.

It's the same issue with me.

Upon starting game, Sims Delivery Error pops up on the top right. Going to Delivery Options, clicking resume does nothing.

When Resuming or Loading a Game, even not recently played household, Sims Error 22 pops up

When Starting a New game, the game crashes.

Troubleshooting done:

Removed Mods. No Effect

Delete all Mods. No Effect

Reinstalling game. No Effect.

Read on Steam Discussions to disable Windows Real Time Protection = Solved. Save files load, New game starts.

Enable Windows Real Time Protection = Back to issue.

MaintenanceTeam Your issue wasn't the same as where you posted, so I've moved you to your own thread.

    Please try this:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop and rename it.
    2. Run a Game Repair in the EA App. (If you use Steam, the equivalent is Verify Integrity.)
    3. Launch Sims 4. You should get no list of mods on launch, and you should have no option to load a previous save.
    4. Start a new game.

Please report here exactly when and what issues happen when you do this.

luthienrising Hey, thanks for the reply. I tried this troubleshooting after my post as I was browsing for possible solutions here in EA forums yesterday. The game crashes on initial loading screen where the music starts playing.

I tried this just now thrice and still it crashes on the loading screen. Pop up on EA app via steam says "An error on our end caused the launch to fail." Crashing stops when I disable windows real time protection though.

When I save during disabled windows real time protection and relaunch the game when it is enabled again, the game successfully launches but I am back to the initial problem where sims delivery error pops up.

My theory is that the threat protection is interfering with the SDX. I read in steam discussions to whitelist sims4 in windows protection and currently trying to find out how I can do that. I'll update if this fixes the problem.

*Edited to remove personal details in screenshots*

luthienrising Update on tinkering with my windows protection, it seems my pc's ransomware protection's Controlled Folder Access is interfering with my documents folder and it stops Sims4 from accessing the Sims 4 files.

I now have allowed Sims 4 access to the controlled folder (documents folder) and the game runs as expected.

I think this solves my problem. Thank you.
