Re: Sim won't use the counter or stove after Cat and Dog DL !

I had this problem as well, and it turns out it was caused by using VAULT Modular Counters and Islands, which aren't CC but still weren't working for some reason. My Sims would prepare food on the counters and islands, but would be unable to then take it to the stove or oven. So if anyone sees this thread but still has the problem, despite using no CCs, try adding a different counter to your kitchen and see if Sims are able to use it.

Was it CC food you was preparing like others here?

No, I don't use CC food. Turns out even switching counters only worked temporarily. Having started up my game again, today the new counters I've added aren't working. No CC food, no CC counters, Sim still can't cook. He'll take food out of the fridge and begin preparing it on the counters. But when he reaches the stage where he'll have to take the food to the stove, the action suddenly cancels itself as he stands there waving a hand with the counter he was using appearing in a thought bubble, like he can't reach the counter he was just using. I tried putting the food on an island, and the island appeared in his thought bubble as the action cancelled itself and he waved his arm. So I put the food on the floor, and only then was he able to pick it up and put it on the stove.

Suggestions? What do you think is the problem here?

    I'm having this too.

What does CC stand for?  I have no mods so that isn't the problem.

    Driving me crazy.

You should try to batch fix your CC's with Sims Studio ? After the C&D update so many Mods and CC's broke that it even affected the save game.

    How to do it ?

    1. Go to the DL Thread for the BETA version of Sims 4 Studio
    2. Download Wishes if you have a PC computer or Candy Apple if you have a MAC
    3. Install Sims 4 Studio
    4. Wait until it loads.
    5. Look up top, there are 4 drop down menus. Select the one that says TOOLS
    6. Click on Tools - Find where it says "Batch Fixes"
    7. Select Objects
    8. Select Fix CC for Cats and Dogs
    9. A screen will pop up -- it will have 2 sections. Ignore the one that says Backup files- S4S will automatically create a folder in your My Documents/Sims 4 Studio folder for backups.
    10. Select the one that says mods-- navigate to where you currently have your mods placed.. So if its still in your My Documents/ Electronic Arts/Sims 4/Mods folder you are fine-- otherwise click browse and navigate to wherever you placed your mods folder while updating for Cats and Dogs.if you have sub-foldered your mods by creators or type of content (furniture deco etc) you will have to select each folder for each creator and run separately or select your furniture folder to run I am nt sure S4S detects content in subfolders.. if you don't have content subfoldered you are fine
    11. Click Run-- once it finished it will pop up with a screen that will tell you how many CC's were fixed and what ones did not need to be fixed

    Tell me if it helped

    Thanks @SandyBee3.

I don't have any custom content.  It is EA only.  I tried CC once but didn't take a liking to it so I deleted it.   My mods file is completely empty.

I did recently download Pets though.

So I assume I wouldn't need to do this?
