If I understand correctly, you had moved the game folder from Documents to the desktop to let the game create a new clean game folder. You have tried to play in this new, clean folder and the game crashed the same as before.
If you didn't do it, do it now.
If the game will crash in this new folder then your computer is responsible for this crash, not the game. Most probably there are problems with your graphics card. To check it out DxDiag on your computer is needed.

You can attach the text file to your post in the “Reply” window with the “Choose File” button.
