I reset my computer and now my old sims are no longer in my library

Everything was so slow on my computer I decided to do a factory reset. I made sure to save all my custom sims in my library beforehand. I reset it and just got back on the game, only to find that all my sims are gone. The worlds are too but I don't really care about that. I checked my backup saves and there are none. I don't know what to do, I spent months on those characters. Is there any way to get them back? Please help

  • if you didn’t back up your saves to an external hard drive then those saves are definitely gone. Now as far as your sims are concerned I see you wrote custom so make sure you are clicking the show all button I think it’s called or include custom content. I thought I had lost some of my sims only to realize they were there I just didn’t realize it because of this. I hope you recover them as that is truly unfortunate for you. I know how it is to lose all your hard work.

Yeah, I'm okay with those saves being gone. As for the sims, i did check off all the options I could and nothing worked

  • HalienTheAlien5  If you only saved the sims to your Library, then they're gone, unfortunately.  The Library content is only stored in Tray inside the Sims 4 user folder.  You would specifically need to upload the sims to the Gallery to have an online copy available.

If you use OneDrive, or at least if you never bothered to disable it, you can look for some content on onedrive.com, either in My Files or the Recycle Bin.  Maybe you'll get lucky.

  • Always save your good saves on a one drive usb that way you can bring them back if your new saves aren't working.
