I've tried this, but it doesn't help.  I've deleted everything in my saves, cache, and mods folder. Please help😖

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

• Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
• Tray Folder
• Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
• Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
• Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
• Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

I tried this method and thank you for the help however, my game will still not stop saying "Error Code: 3" whenever I try to start it up. I removed my cc and saves as you have instructed(except for the "scratch" folder since it seemed important) but it still doesn't work and now I can't even create a new world without my mods and saves. I can make a household then when I try to move them into a town the screen shows no town, like they aren't there.☹️Anyone have an answer for this?

I'm having the same problem! it doesnt show the worlds, everything else is fine. I tried to move in a sim and its blank... at startup, theres no error code though.

Did you repair your game yet ?

I followed the steps of this tutorial and I tried starting a new game without adding anything back yet and all the worlds are still missing. What should I do?

Did you also try right-clicking on the game in Origin and hit repair game ?

Hi, I just clicked Repair Game and it fixed my issue! Thank you so much, is there a way I can get back all my previous households/things I had in the gallery? My current household is now missing and I really wanna get it back!

In the online gallery or in your library ?

Do you still have all your user files in this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\ ?

My library, and yes I do

If the files are still in your tray folder in documents, they should show in the library.

Are you sure you're checking the folder the game is using ? Do your saves still show up in the game ?

have you got any other tips?

Have you been using custom content ?

I don't have anything in my mods folder and the same thing happens to me.

have you tried repairing the game through Origin yet ?

I'm currently "repairing my game" I'll keep you all updated.

Repairing my game worked, thank you all so much, anyone with the error 3 problem right click on the game in origin and click repair. It doesn't take long to do and works, Thanks again 🙂.
