Re: Sims 4 Game Failed to Load

@serendiqiity  Does the error happen on a new save, or only your current ones?  Does the error have any other text than "game failed to load"?  If so, please post a screenshot.

For your mods and custom content, if you have a conflict between two files, it would explain some of the weird results you're seeing.  The way to find it is still to use the 50/50 method, except you'll need to test your files together, as in, if one set of files works fine, you need to leave them in the game as you add more.  Once you get the error again, you'll know that one of the problem files is in the last batch, and you can split and retest that batch with the rest of the files still in place until you find the culprit.

Once you've identified that one file, you can test the other content while that problem file is still in your Mods folder; when the game stops working again, you'll know that the last batch you added has the second problem file, and you can repeat the process.

The error only happens in the current save I have, though after saving in my current save roughly 4 times since creation the error occured.

Also, when I find the problem file, if I keep it in my mods folder while continue to test other folders, wouldn't the error code keep coming up regardless because the problem file is still in the folder?

@serendiqiity  That depends on whether the problem file is a problem all by itself or only in combination with another.  It sounded like you might instead have a mod conflict:

Okay great, so the broken cc must be in the 50502 folder.

I took the contents from the 50502 folder and put them into my mods folder, and I put the cc that I already tested into the 50502 folders (I swapped them). I load the game to ensure that the contents in the 50502 folder were the culprit, but when I load the game I don't receive the error.

It's easy enough to test though: if you do identify a file that reintroduces the error, test your game with only that file present, nothing else in the Mods folder, and see what happens.  If the game doesn't load, trash that file.  If it does load, you're looking at a conflict, in which case you could still trash that one file and be done with it, or you could leave it in and test your other content against it.

I started off with my build/buy folder and put cc in folder by folder. I found out it was a merged file that was causing the error. I tested it for mod conflicts and I only got the error when the single file was in my mods folder. Idk what the weird on and off error code was, but I'm just grateful to have fixed it. Thank you so much for your help!
