Sorry for the late reply, I've been pretty busy getting ready for my upcoming holiday, but thank you so much for the reply!
At the moment, I only have the sims 4 base game, so no vampire toddlers, however, it does only seem to be a specific household which causes the game to freeze. I removed all my cc from my mods folder, added 2 random sims from the gallery, and was able to change the outfit category just fine. I re-added the household I am currently using in game, (one female sim & a toddler), went to change the females outfit category (to formal), and the game crashed, as usual - the sims music stops, the game freezes, as does my PC. I am unable to do anything, I can't move the mouse, exit the sims via the F1 button or windows button, etc - I have to turn the laptop off via the power button. It seems that the specific household is the problem, even without cc, which makes no sense to me, I've never had any problems like this before!
Thanks, amelia.

what happens if you put the broken household to a new save game. Do you have the same issue ?
Sometimes cc can corrupt a certain Sim even when removed (depending on the cc).
Do you have the Sim in the gallery ? If so, what's the name ?
So sorry for the late reply, I've been on holiday for 2 weeks without wifi and got back home today! As of yet, the sim has not been uploaded to the gallery, but I am able to do so! My origin is AmeliaChelsea !! I'll try to re-save the sim, however I believe I tried this before, and it was the sim that caused the game to crash, not the save. Thanks so much for the reply and sorry for the lack of info, I've only been in the door 10 mins!
Many thanks, amelia
