Re: Sims 4 refusing to open up after the November patch 2020

This happened to me too. I don't have any CC or mods at all.

Edited to add that I have tried rebooting multiple times, repairing the game multiple times, deleting Origin cache files, and nothing works. I am so frustrated and sad, especially because I play it on a system that is well past the minimum requirements to run it.

    If your PC says that

    msvcp140.dll

is missing you need to manually download Microsoft Visual C++ 2019.

I can't speak for the OP, but I don't have an error message about any files missing, the game just flat out doesn't load for me.

@foxontherun7  yeh this is the issue I'm having, no error message or anything. I've had issues in the past with the sims 4 trying to run as admin before too but that was when I play cracked, Idk what to do now since well its the actual game and not a fake version xd

  • Hi! I had this issue too. I seems that I kinda fixed it now.

Try this, but I'm not sure this will work for you, too:

    1. Exit Origin

    2. Run Origin as administrator

    3. Run the Sims4_64.exe as administrator, do NOT click the Play Button in Origin

    This worked for me
