Re: Sims 4 sims are stuck, won't reset

Could you try renaming your The Sims 4 folder in Documents? This will give you a clean game, see how the game runs.

If it runs fine gradually move over folders and test the game, see which folder causes the issue.

I don't understand how that would help. Don't I need all of my folders to run my game?

And if I don't, then even if I find out which folder has the issue, how would I fix it?

You can try renaming the folder and testing the game, if it works we know it's a file. If it doesn't we'll have to look further in to the issue.

  • I couldn't have said it any better than how the person(original person who began this post)  described this. However, I tried the suggestion that she got and nothing worked. So, I will suggest one back to EA.

    1. Please get a update and patch to us. We have been waiting for three months. I just want to state I have a laptop. I just want to make sure that is out there.

    2. I don't use custom content. So, I know it is not an issue.

    3. I know my computer does meet the requirements needed to play this game. In addition, I have a contract with geek squad ( because I am not a geek) and I have my regular tune-ups which do include diagnostic and monthly cleanings. In addition, I have antivirus protection that is set correctly. I never have issues there and if I did, Geek squad would help or EA ( depending upon who's area it is) but for those of you who are reading this, be sure all your drivers, windows updates, softwares and what nots are all updated in additon to trying all that is on these forums. I did and it did help some. For a while . That did not last. I then was instructed to rename the files again and loose all my sims again. I am tired of getting the run around and on this crazy fruit loops merry go round. It isn't jiving anymore.

    4. EA with all the upmost due respect and long lasting loyalty ( since 2009 I've been with you) I couldn't be more disappointed. We, no.. I am not a tech geek. I do not have the money to pay one and the things listed to do to problem solve for to fix this game are scary and crazy. An average person would have no idea how to do what is asked. If a wrong file or a wrong erase of a file for the game was done it would cause major problems. A person has to be a tech geek these days to play your game and that to me is not fair at all and I am sorry but I am tired of it and super frustrated that I have to pay lots of money for a game that continues to have issues. Please patch the game so we can all get on with what we love. Okay! Happy Holidays and God bless! your long devoted Sim fan. I was there even in Sim 1 somewhere. LOL
