Re: Sims 4 taking forever to load recently?

@marceline2797  There are plenty of reasons the game could load slowly.  A good test is to move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and let the game spawn a new one.   Start a new save (no need to spend much time on it; this is just for testing), place a sim in a house, save, quit, reload; let me know how the loading times are.

If the game loads quickly in a clean folder, the problem is likely corrupt or outdated mods or custom content.  You'll need to sort though your files manually, which you can do in the clean folder.  Test them in batches and keep an eye on the loading times; any batch that causes excessively long loading needs to be split and tested until you find the problem file(s).

If the game still loads slowly even in a clean folder, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

By the way, let me know if you happen to be on a Mac.

Hello, I've been having the same problem. The only place I notice where the loading times have been long is when I've started up the game.

I followed the advice from you (puzzlezaddict) and even though it created a clean save, it still loaded up slowly.

In game the loading speeds have been fine.

Below is my dxdiag information for my machine.

    Thanks

    James
