Re: sims 4 updates verifying game files

Are you still having problems with the update and playing your game?  I had the same thing happen with the most recent update and received the error.  I did eventually get it fixed if you still need help.  To answer your most recent question about compatible operating systems, this is what is listed on Origin:

Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1), Windows 8, or Windows 8.1.

I am running Sims 4 on Windows 7 without an issue.

i still have the problem what should i do i have windows 7

    help please 🙂

  • This is what I did.

Put your Saves, Tray and Mod folders and Option.ini file on your desktop (from Documents, Electronic Arts, Sims 4). Delete the rest of the The Sims 4 folder from your Documents > Electronic Arts folder. Then start the game, exit the game, and copy then paste your moved items back  and say yes to overwriting the files. Delete the Scratch subfolder from inside Saves. Then start the game again.  If you are still unable to start the game (which happened to me), go to your game icon (if in Origin, in "My Games"), right click and select "check for update".  It should reload the update and then it worked for me.

If you haven't played the game at all, you could probably skip moving the saves, tray, mod, and option.ini folders, and just uninstall the game, reinstall the game, and then check for updates.  Hope this helps.  If not let me know or if you need something explained more clearly.  Good luck!

i didnt play the game at all and i did i uninstalled and i installed the game again bu no luck can u tell me more about solving the problem 🙂

  • After you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you run the update and/or repair game again?  If that didn't fix it, have you tried temporarily turning your antivirus program and/or firewall off to see if it is causing problems with the game?    If it works with one or both turned off, then you know that's the problem.  I had this problem when I first started playing Sims 3.

thanks it workeeeeeeed but it didnt update and i need to download sims 4 get to work can you help how can i update it
  • I am not certain I understand.  What do you mean by "i dont have the original window"?    If the game works now, then I'd say you probably have all the updates.  To check for updates, you go to your game library in Origin and right click on Sims 4 and select "check for updates", it will check to see if you are missing any updates and will update it for you.
