Re: Sims 4 won't install

@LauraSims31

We're trying to figure out why this is happening for some people, but we need more diagnostic information to help track it down.

If you're willing to help us diagnose this problem, please do the following:

- From the main Origin window, click 'Help'

- Select 'Origin Error Reporter'

- For 'Type of Error', select "Installing Games from Discs"

- Leave 'Customer Support Ticket Number' blank.

- In the text box, you can just write something like "Can't install from discs"

- Check the box if you agree (you can read what information we will collect here http://download.dm.origin.com/oer/en_US.html)

- Click "Send Report"

- Finally, copy your Report ID and paste it into a reply to this message so that we can investigate your report immediately.

Lastly, could you let us know if you're running any type of anti-virus or other anti-malware software?

When you insert Disk 2 into the DVD drive, does it show up under My Computer as "Sims4_2", and contain the following files?
    Sims4.zip

    Autorun.ico

    Autorun.inf

Error after installing expansion was told to uninstall sims 4. Have put in disc one it wont register in my computer at all, however disc 2 and expansion will. Have tried everything. I don't want to have to download it for 8gb after i paid good money to buy it on disc.

Hi there. As soon as I put the code in to register it, it tells me the code has already been used 😩

Did you use the code before ? Was the game sealed when you bought it or was it a used game ?

I've bought it years ago, but used it on a previous laptop.... I think before Origin existed as now I can't play it without Origin, but surely if I buy a game I should be able to download it on any new computers I possess in the future!!

    Hi @Beeroxxx

Origin existed when Sims 4 came out. If you registered the game on your Origin account, it should still be there.

Make sure you use the email address you used back the to login.

If that fails, you'll need to get in touch with a game advisor as only they can help with account issues

Game advisors can be found through live chat or call-back

    Hi @emswood

this is a rather old thread. Could you please describe the issue you're seeing now in more details ? Are you getting any error messages ?

It's probably best if you start a new thread and give all the details there.

I'm going to lock this thread as it's old.

OER-IDs are not needed at this point, please post your exact issue in a new thread that you can be helped properly.

Post your OS and what symptoms you are seeing.

    Thank you.
