- @deskkiscool huh?
do you own the game through origin or steam? (not the expansion, the actual basegame? - @DeanXeL through steam, i bought the game there
- @deskkiscool aaaaaahh but that actually explains quite a bit.
up until now, you've been repairing and reinstalling in origin or steam? - @DeanXeL through origin, i didnt even know you could repair on steam. i bought basegame and a few expansions on steam but got university and tiny living on amazon and redeemed the codes on origin. my game was fine until a few hours after redeeming the codes
- @deskkiscool yeah it's fine, don't worry 🙂
but it's good, means we can still try a few things!
Go to steam, go to your game in your library, right click and select properties. In local files, select verify integrity of game files - @DeanXeL alright its going, but whenever i repaired sims through origin and it opens steam and goes through there, was that different?
- @DeanXeL its finished verifying, said all files were verified
- @deskkiscool alright, fingers crossed, try launching again...
also, it shouldn't be different... I think? But I've heard mixed results from using one or the other before, so it doesn't hurt to try. - @DeanXeL i tried to launch and it gave me the same error message so i restarted my computer and it launched so i tried to use tiny living but same thing, glitched tiny living cas
- @deskkiscool bleh.... I'm running out of ideas here since none of the repairs seem to work.... maybe @crinrict can help? I know they're busy today though...
To reiterate for anyone chiming in:
- Steam version of the basegame and packs, just installed the first 2 origin-owned packs using Amazon keys. Got an error pertaining to missing game data and the tiny living object data is actually missing (missing footprints/missing textures)
- Turned off Onedrive cloud sync and Origin save sync
- Repaired and reinstalled the game in origin
- Ran a reset of The Sims 4 folder, repaired again (error was gone temporarily, but came back. At no point were the mods returned to the folder. Tiny living pack textures and footprints were never restored.
- Ran a repair in steam, still no luck. - @DeanXeL ah man, hopefully something works, ive been having this problem for hours. thank you so much your your help tho, i really appreciate it!
@deskkiscool At the moment, are you seeing any issues other than the missing textures from Tiny Living? Please also post a screenshot of the error you've been referencing, the one you see when launching the game.
Please also let me know what antivirus you use, if any.
@DeanXeL Just in case you were wondering, I never had any intention of abandoning this thread, but I did need to sleep.
Also, so you're aware, Origin doesn't sync Sims 4 saves with cloud storage no matter what settings are used.
- @puzzlezaddict apologies, didn't mean any offense 🙂 and thank you so much for the clarification!
besides the issues with tiny living i occasionally get the original error message from earlier but i can launch the game after restarting my computer and repairing via origin.
@deskkiscool Do you use a third-party antivirus? If so, that could easily be the cause of this particular error, and possibly the reason Tiny Living isn't being repaired properly.
Additionally, did you ever delete only the folder for Tiny Living from the game's program files? When the base game is installed through Steam, the folder would be located here by default:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4
You're looking for the folder labeled SP16 (Tiny Living was the 16th stuff pack released), as noted. Please clear Origin's cache (again) before reinstalling the pack.

- @puzzlezaddict i dont use any antivirus no. i didnt get to delete the SP16 since i couldnt find it but im getting on now to do that
- @puzzlezaddict i just followed the instructions on the website and everything went smoothly except i couldnt delete the “CustomBoxartCache” in the origin file, said it needs permission?
@puzzlezaddict i completed the steps and relaunched the game and it worked! everything seems to be completely normal! i can place the murphy beds and the tiny living cas items are loading on my sims!! thank you and @DeanXeL i appreciate your guys help!
- @deskkiscool don't forget to mark their solution as the solution for your issue, this might help other simmers too 🙂 always happy to (try to) help!
@deskkiscool I'm glad to hear it's working. For the one file you couldn't delete, it likely had nothing to do with this issue, both because you didn't need to delete it to fix your game and because of its name. But in the future, if you can't delete something you want to get rid of, the usual workaround is to restart your computer and make sure the relevant app is closed and there aren't any related background processes running in the Task Manager.
