Re: Sims won't share a bed

@WeeNat_69When sims wave in the air with a thought bubble of crossed out objects, it's because they cannot route to it. Make sure there is at least 1/2 a tile/grid all around the bed, and that there is nothing on the walls, floor, hanging from the roof etc that blocks them. Sometimes it is not intuitive - a window can be an obstacle for instance.

If you want you could upload the room/build and I can take a look at it.

Like I said, I moved absolutely everything from around the bed so nothing could've been blocking it and it still done it but maybe there was something I missed because there is a lot of clutter idk :/ yes, I will upload the bedroom to the gallery tomorrow and I'd be so grateful if you could check it out. I'll let you know once I've uploaded. Thanks 🙂

Also, the bed isn't crossed out in the thought bubble. It's just a thought bubble of the bed and sometimes the couch for some reason which is in a different room and doesn't block her from getting to the bedroom any other time :/

Hi are you there? I'm going to upload my house to the gallery if you want to take a look?

  • There are sometimes invisible glitched objects that hide under the floor or foundation...

You can try and bulldoze the room and then rebuild it. It is a pain I know, but I had a similar issue and it worked for me.

@WeeNat_69  Thank you, I will try. If I need to enable MOO before placing it, please tell. I'll get back to you tomorrow.

@WeeNat_69   I moved everything out of the room one object at a time, but not until I moved the bed off from the wall would my sims use it.

There is a bug report on sims not being able to scoot anymore, here:
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Sims-won-t-share-a-double-bed-that-is-placed-against-a-wall/td-p/6889714/page/3

I think perhaps the house was built when they could, and that is why the bed is put all the way up against the wall. When you moved the bed, did you try doing that? Could you try now, and see if it works? Move the bed off from the wall. Sims need half a tile/grid (the squares you can see in Build mode) to be able to route/go somewhere, and the animation sends them to each side of the bed. Tell me if it doesn't work. And click Me Too on the bug report, I will as well. 🙂

Yes i deleted everything and moved the bed. My sim stopped having the thought bubble with the bed, but now it was a thought bubble with the couch and i have no idea why :/ the couch isn't blocking anything

It was me who put the bed against the wall. It isn't my house. I downloaded someone else's but i changed some bits and all the decorating is mine 😁 do you like it? Lol

@WeeNat_69   Yes, I do, it is very cute!
My sims could walk into the bedroom when I gave them the order Go Here, with no problem. But the house is very cluttered, and the pathways are narrow, and there are small objects everywhere, placed with moveobjects cheat. I avoid that when building, I never use MOO, and I make sure there are space to route around all the essential objects that sims use (like bed, sofa stove etc). Some animations require more space than others. I will let the sims roam around in the house and see if they protest to the couch! Did it work to move the bed?

I got it to work once but only after i made the rooms bigger, deleted all the clutter, moved the bed to the middle of the room and deleted the couch for some reason. I really don't want to change the house or make it bigger ☹️ I love it the way it is and spent a lot of time decorating and placing all the objects. But looks like I'm gonna need to ☹️

@WeeNat_69    I can understand that, it is a nice house.
A tip is to continually let testsims roam around in your house while building it, to make sure that all areas are possible to reach; so that you can fix any issues earlier on and spare yorself trouble later. That goes for any placement of objects, clutter etc; furnish the way you want, and test if it works, and if it doesn't, just move things around, and test again. There is no reason to give up on your vision, just make allowance for the way sims route to and around objects. I see that as part of the fun of building as well, to make the houses functional as well as esthetically pleasing.

My sims, and the Welcome Wagon sims, could use the couch with no issues. Could you post a screen shot of how they protest to it in your game, and tell why they do it?
