Here are the The Sims 4 system requirements (minimum)

  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.0 GHz Dual Core required if using integrated graphics)
  • CPU SPEED: Info
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • OS: Windows XP
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon X1300 or Intel GMA X4500
  • SOUND CARD: Yes
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 10 GB

The Sims 4 Recommended Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-750 or AMD Athlon X4
  • CPU SPEED: Info
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • OS: 64 Bit Windows 7,8, or 8.1
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 or better
  • SOUND CARD: Yes
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 10 GB

So you would fulfill the Minimum requirements but that does not mean you can play on high settings. Also, those are the requirements for just base game. As you start adding DLC, the game will need more power. The game has proven to be RAM hungry and I think the requirements are too low. Support probably just went by the specs.

My recommendation are as follow:

At least 8 GB of RAM, i5 or i7 or AMD equivalent and a dedicated graphics card.

    I installed SIMS 4 with all DLC. However, It just freezes then a message will come up saying that the sims 4 has stopped working & windows is trying to find a solution. That's why I planned to buy a desktop Pc.

    The Graphics card is well below minimum specs and the other things barely meets minimum specs. So it is unlikely that you will get it to run on that.

    Go with @crinrict recommendations when buying a new desktop (or laptop).

    Desktop PC is a good idea cause they are cheaper than laptops for what you get but you need to up the specs from what you went at first.

    That one is way to low.

    Saw this old post, hope i can get a little advice...

    My laptop was nowhere near strong enough to handle the Sims4 so ive opted to get a new desktop. I see the PC requirements mentioned above, however, the lingo differs between whats mentioned above and what ive chosen in this build. Please let me know if these are good enough to run my game on high maybe ultra settings
