Re: The sims 4 64 bit won't load due to missing core/activation64.dll

This also happened to me, this is currently a problem that i do not know how to fix and i have tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled Ea, did the same for sims4, cleared the cache, and redownloading Activation.64. This was never a problem before and i did nothing to the files except add cc and i even took out all my cc for this. i dont know what the problem is but this has been happening for 2 weeks and i dont know what to do.

@leoetralip  I don't know whether this error would generate a crash dump, but if so, I'd like to see it in case it gives any other information about this issue.  Click Windows key-R and copy and paste this:

    %LocalAppData%\CrashDumps

When you enter, you'll see a list of .dmp files.  If one of them is from Sims 4 or Origin, please upload it to a third-party filehosting site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and link it here.  If you see a crash dump that was written at exactly the time the game crashed, I'd like that too.  But in either case, please only upload files from after we started troubleshooting here.

If there is no Sims 4 .dmp file, you can enable them:

    • Hit the Windows key, type "command prompt" in the box, right-click on Command Prompt in the search results, and select Run as Administrator
    • In the window, paste "reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\devenv.exe" /v DumpType /d 2 /t REG_DWORD" without the outside quotes into the box, and enter
    • Try to launch Sims 4, then wait five minutes
    • Hit Windows key-R and paste "%LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps" without quotes into the box, and enter
    • Upload the last .dmp file to a free filesharing site and link it here
    • When you want to undo the auto crash log dumps, open Command Prompt as before, paste "reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps" /f" without the outside quotes, and enter.

If you can't find a crash dump, let me know; that's also useful information.

  • @puzzlezaddict i followed this i dont know much abt any of this stuff but i put in the first line of code or whatever it is into command prompt then i went into my game to see if it would load it did but all the mods/cc i had put in was all gone and i had two files in electronic arts on named The Sims 4 and the other named The Sims 4 Legacy and the game said it was offline then i continued to put in the other two lines into command prompt and then tryed to go back into my game it said try again later im not sure what to do now but if you know i would love if you could email me on how to fix the problem my email is [edit: email address removed]
