Re: The Sims 4 only opens as a background process

@shyanika01  First of all, please clear the EA App's cache:

https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

restart your computer, and repair the game: open My Collection, hover over the Sims 4 icon, click the three dots, and select Repair.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  (Restart your computer again beforehand.)  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

After Clearing the Cache and repairing I can play the game vanilla. But when I add my small batch of CC back in the game is still a background process. Even with one piece of CC the game won't open. It did before the application switch. I appreciate your help anyways though.

@shyanika01  What antivirus do you use?  If you've set exceptions for Sims 4 and Origin, but not the EA App, that could explain the issue.  Or perhaps you never needed to set an exception until the App came along.

And are you completely sure that all your custom content is fully updated?  It's worth downloading a new item confirmed to be compatible with the current patch level (1.95) to see whether it works.  If it doesn't, move the Mods folder to the desktop and let the game generate a new one, then add that new item (but nothing else) and test again.

I use Windows Defender. Yes, I managed to create a new mods folder. I put the one piece back in and still no boot. Even with my entire folder, I took my mods out and just left certain pieces of cc and in and  I still can't get the game to open. I'll Try the 50/50 method again to see if that helps me. I'll probably have to play without mods/cc for a while.
