Re: The Sims 4 won't launch
@puzzlezaddict Sorry, I should've specified: I have the game installed on an external hard drive as the internal hard drive doesn't have sufficient space. For that reason, I can't move it onto my desktop.
@churchado Rename the folder instead, which accomplishes the same thing. But please make sure you're renaming the user folder, that has subfolders like saves and Tray, as opposed to the game's program files, which contains subfolders like Delta and Game.
@kesyafa Does the EA App open and load properly? If not, that's the issue, not Sims 4. If the App is working, can you launch the game from within your library, and does that help?
I don't see any Sims 4-related errors in your dxdiag, which could mean they've been crowded out by newer errors. It could also mean that the game is being blocked from starting rather than crashing. That's often antivirus-related, so please check yours for any actions that involve Sims 4. If you see a quarantined file, restore it. Otherwise, repair the game and try again to play.
@puzzlezaddictI can't find the user folder you're referring to. I've searched my D: drive (where the game is installed) for saves and tray folders, but haven't found anything relevant.
@churchado The user folder is separate from the game's program files and is always in Documents > Electronic Arts unless you take specific steps to move it. This is independent of where you've installed Sims 4 itself. Here's how to find the folder:

@churchado That means that the problem is something in your old user folder. The first culprit is always mods or custom content, so test those files first, in the clean folder. The 50/50 method can make the process much more efficient:

Once you've sorted through this content, you can transfer the contents of the saves and Tray (saved households and builds) folders to the new Sims 4 folder, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those. The other files and folders can be discarded; the game will regenerate them as necessary.
