Re: What PC is required for ultra high graphics?

@zylw2swysrzc  The requirements for Sims 4 are pretty simple these days.  Any dedicated graphics card released in the last four years or so can run the game on ultra graphics settings, which means anything from Nvidia with a model number 16xx, 20xx, 30xx, or now 40xx; and anything from AMD with a model number 5xxx or higher (four digits).  Similarly, any desktop-class processor released in the last three years should be more than adequate.  You may want a better processor for the sake of futureproofing—a stronger CPU could support a faster graphics card in the future if you ever decide to upgrade—but it's not strictly necessary.

Sims 4 also only needs 8 GB RAM installed, but I'd suggest going with at least 16 for futureproofing, especially if you're considering a custom build.  On the other hand, this is the most easily upgraded component, so you could add more RAM yourself if it saved enough money to be worth the (very small) extra effort.  You probably want at least 512 GB storage, and I'd highly recommend getting a solid state drive (SSD) rather than a larger mechanical drive (HDD).  SSDs load everything from Windows to most games significantly faster, and they're not much more expensive than HDDs in the 500 GB-1 TB range.

If you're getting a custom build or a prebuilt PC, the other components will be good enough to support the above hardware.  If you're building yourself, we can talk about the motherboard, CPU cooler, power supply, and case.

Whenever you're ready to buy, feel free to link the options you're considering or ask for some ideas to get you started.
