Re: Where is mods folder for sims 4 in windows 10??

You need to start the game at least once for the folder to be created

If you want to play with your old saves, you'll need to manually move them over from your old computer

    I'm not sure whether you're still having the problem but I not long ago had the problem too, I do everything that everyone stated above but nothing even played for 5 minutes (probably longer) but I think I might of found a way you can find it, Not sure whether it'll work but...

    Click on This PC, then Click on your C Drive, which'll look like this -- Acer ( C : ) (Without spaces) -- If you've clicked on it, then you'll see a bunch of folders, Some with program files, etc.. Click on the folder that says 'Users' then once you've done that, Click on the one folder that has your PC's name on it, Like what you've named your PC, For example mine's -- Shyanne -- As that's my name, I know original, but once you've done that then you'll see all the same folders you have at the side but for some strange reason are completely different, click on documents after the PC's named folder, once you've also done that you'll be directed to some more folders, Click on Electronic Arts then Sims 4 then Mods.

    Hopefully this helped I do really suck at explaining stuff, I also tend to babble, If you understand anything from above then awesome.

    If there's nothing there still then I have no absolute clue, I do hope you get it solved quick though as I know it's horrible specially when you'd like to play the game.

    @charnutss

    I do not know what you mean by "it has not been fixed"? 🤭

    This is how the game works, nothing is wrong, why would they fix it, and what would the fix be? 🙂

  • Thank you soooooooooooo much! I had the same problem as you and nothing was working so I tried your idea and it worked! I can now finally get my bunk beds mod!! - Yay! -
  • Thank you, Shyanne. Everyone else who THINKS they know what the problem is needs to put a can in it.

    Obviously there's a bigger issue here. And it's Shyanne's method is the one that ACTUALLY works.

    I have searched for hours a day and could not find the answer to getting my custom content working. Thanks to your info I got CC in the game and now working! THANK YOU.

  • Thank you!! When my game updated it removed all of my CC and I quit trying to fix it after a couple of hours and removing the mods and putting them back in in this folder helped greatly!! Thanks again!!

    Hi this is SandpiperGamer at your service. I know your question is probably solved by now but all you gotta'do is CREATE a new Mods folder. Just right click on the empty space in your The Sims 4 folder scroll down in the drop down menu and select "New" then select "Folder" , now name it "Mods" and hit enter.

     Sim on!

    @DP_JUNGLEJULIA

    The folder is created by the game. It will not help to create a Mods folder anywhere else than the one created by the game.

  • You are the only one saying this.

    This folder is created with a fresh new install of the game (as far as I know).

    So what do you do when you have played for 538 hours and want to try mods but there's no Mods folder?

    And I did not say put this newly created folder anywhere but The Sims 4 folder, daaa, that's where it's created.

    I'm far from the only one saying this. The folder is not created during installation but by the game the first time it is launched.

    You wrote how to create a mods folder. Since you can not do that in the games the Sims 4 folder because there already is one I assumed you meant to create it somewhere else.

    If you have played for just a few seconds (let alone 538 hours) the game will have created this folder as well as some others. If you do not see it it is because you are not looking in the correct place, Normally it will be placed here on PC: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods

    I'm closing this thread to stop it being necroed.

    If you have any issues with Sims 4 please make a new topic about the issues you are having and what kind of steps you have tried to solve it.
