@crockett85 Try starting a new save game. (Remember, you won't lose the one you have. You'll just have a second save.) See if the same thing is true in the new save.

Sometimes it's a corruption of the save, rather than a problem with the game itself. I've seen ways of fixing saves by going into the save folder and restarting an older save. I haven't made a copy of how that is done to explain it here. You might find out how to do that with a search of this site. It seems to me that I've seen it in some of the pinned posts.
