Really weird screen glitches

Just updated my sims game today, opened it to find the attached photo. Happens when I pull up the start menu, or anything overlays my sims game. It glitches out my entire screen, including other tabs, until I've closed the sims again - and then it is immediately fixed.

I have restarted my sims, and my laptop - it only seems to be an issue with sims 4.

  • @senpaipanda1  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop.  If you use ReShade or GShade, remove that as well, and repair the game (again, if you have already).  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

If that doesn't help, please link the relevant TikTok video here.  I don't use the service at all and have no idea how to navigate it, but I can watch one video.

Please also link the driver download page for your computer.  HP makes it impossible to find exactly the right page for a given PC from the information in a dxdiag, but you can find it easily enough with your serial number, which I'm not asking for and you shouldn't share.  Go here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter the serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if prompted, and you'll land on the driver download page.  Please don't install anything yet; just link the page here.  It doesn't contain any personal information, only the drivers for your overall model.  I want to compare what you have installed, according to your dxdiag, with what's available for your PC.

  • my screen is glitching similarly in game, not as bad, but its turning those colors and breaking up in chunks. I have a video of mine on tiktok (@pandaworld15) because the file is too big for here
