Rotate objects

How do I rotate an object in my house? I bought a stereo and want to align along a wall, will have to rotate the stereo to do so. Thanks

I hold down the left mouse button and it rotates the whole house not the object. I tried holding down the right button and it didn't rotate the object either.

    In Sims 3 or Sims 4 camera mode ?
