Please post a DxDiag. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
You can attach the txt file directly to your answer. Please find requested file attached.
@sriccio Do the pop-ups actually freeze your computer, or can you just not close them? Try hitting crtl-alt-delete and see whether you can bring up the Task Manager. If you can, the computer isn't truly frozen, although the game may be. Please let me know whether Sims 4 is still responding.
If you can't bring up the Task Manager, please look for entries in the Reliability Monitor right after you have to force restart your computer. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day; today is all the way on the right. Look for the most recent entry or entries, click "View technical details," copy the information into a text document (Notepad works fine), and attach it to a post.
The timestamps in the initial chart may be a bit inaccurate, so please include any reports from within an hour or two of the forced restart. If you don't see anything though, that's also good information to have.
