Save Disappearing

I was working on my Sims legacy save last night, and I saved the game. This morning, I went to load into my game, and the save wasn't there. I looked in my trash and it wasn't there. I'm not sure how to check what the save number was so I can see if it was in the save folder but I searched in my other files to see if it was relocated and it wasn't.

The save had the issue with the corrupted worlds that was patched a while back. One of the 2 worlds that was corrupted was Chestnut ridge and for some reason the corrupted one was kept and the functioning world was deleted. I was still able to move my sims from the functioning world into a different world, and I did that in the session I played last night.

I have the game on Steam and I attempeted to repair it with no luck.

My divice info is as follows:

Proccesser: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz (2.40 GHz)

Graphics Card: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics (128 MB)

Installed Ram: 8GB

corrupted save

    yyq9f6c977md​  You need to delete everything after .save , or else the game won't read that save.  The .day and .week designations are extra backups that were introduced a few patches ago: daily, weekly, I believe monthly as well.

    Ohhhh okay I understand now. I have files that say "save.day.vers#". Should I keep the "day" when deleting the "vers#" or do I delete it as well.

    yyq9f6c977md​  The Slot_ffffffff.save is the auto-save, so the most recent one is probably not correct.  An older one may be though.  These can be recovered in the same way as other saves, although you'll need to assign a different number, e.g. 00000050: eight hexidecimal digits, nothing else.

    I wouldn't delete anything, rather move files you're not using to a different folder for safekeeping.  You can delete the saves when you're sure you don't need them.

    Okay, I found two saves that could be the right one. I assume it's not the one that is a repeating f and it's save 2. I only used one save last night so I don't know what the other would be... Should I just delete the newest version and make the second newest the newest?

    yyq9f6c977md​  You can check the modified dates on the save files to try to figure out whether one of them, or a backup copy, is from your missing save.  Sort the folder by modified date to see the newest ones.  It's also possible that the game overwrote the wrong save slot, so a backup of what looks like a different save number (from within the game) might in fact be your old save.
