Save file won't open in Sulani when sim is off home lot.

After downloading the Sims 4: Island Living I went right away to make a mermaid! Everything was running fine and dandy and then I brought up my game to try and play her again and I can't...I can select her from the first screen. Then I go into the next screen where you click on their house and click play and it just loads and loads. I'm not sure why this is for her. Is there some kind of glitch using the Off the Grid trait? Is it because she is off her home lot? I really don't want to have to delete this save and start all over. None of my other six saves are doing this, and one is also in Sulani so I know it isn't JUST the place. I have tried it multiple times to get it open over the past four days, just sort of hoping that it was something my computer was doing, but nothing. I didn't see this question anywhere else so I apologize if its already been asked. I don't play with any mods or cc (I know how those can mess up the game so I don't want to risk it) I have all the expansion, game and stuff packs installed.
