Saved game disappeared from Sims 4

I had a saved game I was playing and I decided to move a new sim in next door to the sim I was playing with. I did that when I was managing the world that my current sim was living in.

It’s then like the new sim with no progress overwrote the other sim’s story because my old sim with the progress and her house has disappeared and I only have access to load the new sim with no progress!

I had moved him in next door to the other sim and could see her house in the lot next to me but now it’s all gone!
My saves go to the OneDrive saves folder on my PC but I don’t think I can access my progress from there. I think all the saves there are related to my current situation
Has this happened to anyone else? My house and progress is gone and I’m just left with this new sim with nothing. It’s so disappointing.
I can’t even reach out to EA directly - it’s just a bot 🙄. How do you reach proper support?

  • @kris_980  I replied to you on the other EA forums, but in case you see this first, is it possible you created a new save rather than simply a new sim?  Please load the game to the Main Menu, click Load Game (rather than Resume), and see whether your old sim is available.

If you can load that save, you should be able to place your new sim in it through Manage Worlds—the sim should be available in your Library.

@puzzlezaddict Thanks I replied in the other forum but didn’t tag you. I think I might just have to start over. It seems like a glitch or something. My old sim isn’t under load games at all. Just the new one.

@kris_980  I'm sorry to hear that.  If you still want to try, it's worth checking onedrive.com for older saves, both in My Files and the Recycle Bin.  You might need to rename the older files you find; let me know if you need help with the process.

I know it's not helpful now, but in the future, I'd strongly recommend making your own backups every once in a while.  I put mine on an external drive and delete the oldest ones when I'm sure I won't need them, and I keep the external disconnected most of the time so it's unaffected by anything going on with my system.  But even a backup elsewhere on your computer (not in Documents) is better than nothing at all.

@puzzlezaddict yeah I took a look at the saves and tried renaming some but they all seem to be connected to other saved games and doesn’t bring me back to where I’d like.

Thanks so much for your help.
