Saved game not loading and just bouncing back to world page

Hi,

So I haven't played sims 4 for a good 6 months or so (been very busy with assignments etc.) and I updated it today, enable my mods (which are just hair mods) and restart it to allow them to work. I select my recent saved game to play and when it takes me to the world map, my saved game is in Brindleton Bay. When I press on the house and press the play button, the loading screen appears and then after a few seconds it just goes back to the page showing me all my different worlds. I try it again and the same happens!

Not sure why this is happening, it is not like the game is crashing or anything but instead just keeps going to the worlds page instead of loading my game. I have exited the game and restarted it and it still isn't working!

Please can anyone help ☹️

edit: can't make new game either it just glitches :/ and looks like this (picture attached):

  • @Lydiaa_G  For the new save issue, try repairing in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.  Test a new save first, as in, load it, have a look around, save, quit, and reload to make sure everything works as normal.  If it does, try loading your existing save.

If the new save works but the existing one does not, try loading a backup version of that save.  You can do so manually or through the in-game interface.

I did that and when I pressed new game everything worked but when I tried to go to an existing game I couldn't open Newcrest. I think it might have to do with a bad save file but I tried taking them out and adding them in one by one and it still doesn't work. do you have any suggestions to fix it?

@4272445841257445  Please create your own thread describing your issue, the steps you've taken to troubleshoot, and their results.  This thread is from 2020 and not all that relevant anymore, so I'll lock it here.
