Yeah, I am quite pissed off about this patch as well. It's ruined a lot of my downloaded mods. Not playing it unless they fix the damned thing, and it's ridiculous to ask paying customers to delete all their mods for their sake. The game seemed fine before the patch, don't understand the need for pointless updates, especially when it ruins what we worked so hard to create in-game.

The Sims 4 Studio has updated their "Cats & Dogs"-batch fix to include a surface fix for the new patch 🙂
(You need to re-download S4S)

The patch fixed some issues with the game. Read the patch notes to see what.
EA doesn't make Mods/CC or support them. So it is up to the makers to update them as the game is updated.
It is up to you if you want to play with Mods/CC to make sure you get the latest versions whenever there is a change.

I agree! We are non stop having patches that are messing up our games. And whenever I use sims 4 studio it messes up my cc! But we were fine without this patch. So I guess I'm just going to have to wait it out until a new patch comes out fixing it! I'm really disappointed with all this cause the game was perfectly fine beforehand. Thanks for listening 🙂

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my games and mods and still I am having this Script call failed error message. This is ticking me off!!

With what objects do you get the error? Only cc-objects?
Reinstalling mods, do you mean that you re-downloaded them? If the creator has not made an updated version that does not help you. Have you tried Sims 4 Studio as mentioned earlier in the thread? 🙂

I am too! I have been a loyal Sims fan for years. They KNOW most of us use Custom Content, and they KNEW they were designing Cats&Dogs with a totally different code, or whatever. And while yes, we recognize Maxis doesn't have anything to do with Custom Content, they HAVE to know that without custom content being able to be utilized by their customers they WILL lose most of their customers.
I purchased Cats & Dogs and everything went to hell. Then updated with the new patch and now 'Script failed' error with dressers, tables, kitchen counters. I exited the game without saving weeks ago and can only start a new game with no CC. It's just kind of boring honestly without my main families. I am really upset about this and checking daily on the web to see if someone can find a fix because otherwise what's the point? I spent so much money on these games and they keep getting more expensive with new versions and yet somehow offer us Less? It just sucks to be a loyal customer and yet have no voice recourse because they "don't support custom content" so just tell you to remove mods from your game. I don't know, maybe that's their goal. Maybe the new company direction just doesn't want CC in their game. If they don't want us to use them they could say so and I wouldn't bother spending any more of my money.

There are a lot of fixes but not an easy one. There are like millions of cc and Maxis can't possibly know how they all work, so they focus on the game instead. You just have to go through your mods and update them, I think there should be fixes for like 97% of the mods, you just might have to live without the 3 that does not work.
If you want to keep your mods, you can try some different things to sort out the ones not working:
- If the problem started after the latest patch/update, always make sure to update your mods when you update your game. Check this list out for some mods that were broken in the C&D-patch! A few others have been broken after but not so many that there is a list.
https://simsvip.com/2017/11/07/incompatible-modsupdates-november-7-2017-patch - Download Sims 4 Studio and do batch-fixes for your cc, they have 2 new fixes after C&D
- Search for the Mod Conflict Detector on google and run it, see if it can detect some broken/conflicting mods, remove these and try your game again. (Only detects conflicts between mods, not between mods and the game)
- Remove all and put back some at a time, restart the game, to find broken ones (last resort if you have like 1000 mods).
Good Luck & Merry Christmas!
- CocoSweets28 years agoNew NoviceThank you, yes, unfortunately I have been playing sims 4 and collecting CC over the years and I'm sure its over 1000 items. As far as Sims 4 studio which has been the ONLY savior for my game since Cats&Dogs I have to wait for a Mac release of their newest download which is going to be a awhile since it was still in testing phase when Maxis released the update.
So I really can't say what the future holds for my Sims but I am definitely waiting a few weeks before I purchase anything or download anything until I can read reviews about what it's doing to other users. I used to get so excited hearing about upcoming expansion packs now I simply dread what they're going to do to my game. Seems like I'm putting in more work than it's worth. But thanks for all the tips and the luck, I will definitely need it.
