Settings wont open

Hi

I'll preface this by saying I have no mods, cc or game packs installed on this PC so this isn't mod related.

My sims 4 game is having some sort of issue. All the build menus work. The list of things that won't work or open are as follows

Options menu

Manage worlds

Gallery

Store

Command line

The screen has also gone black but everything is still clickable. I've tried ctrl,shift,s to save but nothing seemed to happen. I really don't want to lose my progress by restarting the game so does anyone know of a way this might be fixable?

    @FlowerTot04  Does clicking esc help?  That would normally bring up the options menu, but I'm not sure from your description whether the menu doesn't open or it does but you can't use it.

    You can also try alt-F4 to exit, and the game should ask if you want to save first, if you can see the notification.

    Other than that, there isn't much you can do here, unfortunately.

    Unfortunately escape and alt-F4 didn't work either. I decided to cut my losses and just manually close the game, once I tried to reopen it started updating so I wonder if that may have caused it.

    Haven't checked to see if my progress did save with the save hotkeys or if the game even still works but I'll find out later 🙃
