@sara_elizabeth15 I don't know what that error means either, but one thing you could try is traveling to another lot. It's easy if you have another sim in the household: travel that sim alone, then summon the first sim to the lot afterwards.
If you only have one sim in the household, you could try zooming out on the map, then clicking a lot that has the car icon on it. That should give you the option to travel to that lot. I'm not sure it would work in this case, but it's easy to try.
