Sim not showing up in choose a sim category

I'm not quite sure how to explain this. Lately, I've been having this problem where one of my sims in my household doesn't show up in the pick a sim category when either choosing a bed for a sim to claim or having my other household sim choose a sim to do an activity with.  I can play the sim just fine except when I traveled with him to his acting job, the option to get notes from director and tell director ready to perform or whatever doesn't show up when clicking on the director. I had a theory maybe him being a student in a University was the problem but one, I couldn't figure out how to get him to drop out so I ended up killing him and bringing him back to life with him having no job and no longer being a student but he's still not showing up in the pick a sim category. I tried resetting him and I tried taking him out of the household and putting him back in again. I don't know what else to do.

    If you have any mods or CC
    1. Move the mods folder to the desktop.
    2. Find and delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. Delete also all folders with the word "cache" in the name.
    3. Fix the game in Origin.
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
    You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
    4. Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder and check if the game is working now properly without mods
    5. Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
    Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods one by one every time checking if the game is OK.
    Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method. divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)

    If it will not work -some files in the game folder can be damaged- then try doing a factory reset as described in this post:
